Is Blogging an Easy Career?

I have already spent two hours just wondering what I should write on my blog FINIX POST. That reminds me of how difficult blogging is. The people who do not have a blog or have never been serious about blogging would be wondering what makes me say that; for according to them blogging is too easy.

But for me, it is not. Why?

1. Consistency: Just buying a domain name and publishing two or more posts don’t make you a blogger. You need to write consistently. Each day you need to come up with new ideas and new topics so as to keep your blog fresh. A blog with no new posts isn’t actually a blog. It becomes a website.

2. Fresh Content: You need to keep the content fresh. Now this is different from the previous point. Even when you are writing new posts, you need to come up with new ideas. Writing new posts doesn’t mean you are writing fresh. People will accuse you for having redundant content on your blog. No one would read it for they have already read everything at some other place. So you need to keep it fresh.

3. Promotions: Right when you think that you are consistent and creative enough to take it easily, there comes the thing we call ‘promotions.’ If you own a blog and don’t promote, please don’t clog up the web space. Just write it in your diary. Yep, a blog which is not shared is of no use. And sharing means promotions and this isn’t an easy thing at all. You would need to analyze where and how you should promote your blog. At what time would you do your promotions, which platforms would you choose? Doing all of this along with writing isn’t easy at all.

4. Statistics: Blog statistics are the scariest part of blogging. Just when you start feeling good for you are being consistent and coming up with fresh content, you are promoting your blog well; there comes the real truth. You see the statistics and see that the growth of your blog is declining. No new comments, no new subscribers, no new followers and that’s when you lose all your hope. Standing up from this downfall each time you check those statistics is itself a big task.

5. Monetization: It’s in human nature to ask for more and more. You are doing what you wanted but if you are not getting any money from it, you won’t be satisfied. Hence you would start looking for ways to earn through your blog. Each day you would read those fake blogs which talk about earning thousands of dollars in one month just through your blog. Then comes another round of depression where you realize even monetization isn’t easy. Just by putting a few ads, you are not going to earn that much money.

   There are many more things you keep worrying about blogging. According to me, blogging isn’t an easy career. I would say a 9 to 5 job would be easier than this job where you need to keep your mind working the whole day for new ideas and tricks. What do you think?
